Our Application

  • Once we have collated your feedback, we will review to see if we are able to make any changes to our application.
  • We will then submit our application to the council.
  • If the council approves our application, we expect to start onsite early 2022.
  • The first homes should be complete by Autumn 2022, with the site finished within three years.

Construction management

  • We will produce a construction management plan, which will set hours of work and routes for construction vehicles.
  • Before we start construction works, we will hold a community event to explain the construction timetable, to help minimise disruption to local people.
  • We propose all construction vehicles access the site from the north, close to the industrial units on Novers Hill.
  • Once on site, construction vehicles will move within the site, not on the local roads.
  • The site will be registered and managed under the Considerate Constructor Scheme (CCS).
  • Lovell is a ‘Partner’ member of the CCS and has lots of experience of working with communities to ensure our construction sites are managed safely and with respect.

Construction work opportunities

  • Most of the building work is undertaken by local sub-contractors.
  • We will run a series of ‘meet the buyer’ events to give local tradespeople a chance to secure those contracts.
  • We will also recruit a number of apprentices - and ask our subcontractors to support the scheme.
  • We will work with local education providers, including South Bristol College to deliver apprenticeships, work experience, work placements and school visits, subject to Covid Rules.
